Description
Game: USC Trojans vs Oregon Ducks (Big Ten conference matchup)
Venue: Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Date: Sat Sep 26, 2026
Kickoff time: TBD (announced ~12 days out by Fox/CBS/NBC)
Attendees: 2 — Nicolas + Benoit
Priority: HIGH — marquee Big Ten matchup, Oregon is a top opponent, tickets sell faster than typical home games.
Buying strategy:
- USC single-game tickets typically release mid-summer (July-Aug) after season-ticket priority renewal
- Check usctrojans.com and Ticketmaster
- Also StubHub / SeatGeek for resale
- Aim for shaded side of stadium (Sept LA afternoon = hot if seated in sun)
To do now:
- Check on-sale date — if not yet on sale, set a calendar reminder for release
- Compare official vs resale pricing

2026-05-18 — Research update: on-sale timing, pricing, and plan¶
TL;DR¶
- Resale already live (TickPick floor ~$142/seat). Official USC face-value sale not yet open.
- Target official on-sale window: late June (mini-plans) → early/mid July (premium singles) → early August (general singles).
- Budget for 2 decent seats (Tier 7 sideline upper): ~$500-700 face value total.
- Action now: wait. Calendar reminder for week of 2026-06-22 to start checking daily (Nicolas is updating Google Calendar separately).
Resale market — already live (as of 2026-05-18)¶
- TickPick: $142+ get-in price
- StubHub, SeatGeek, Ticketmaster: game is listed
- Floor likely = upper-deck end zone (nosebleeds). "Decent" sideline resale will be higher and will climb as Sept approaches — Oregon is a high-demand marquee, prices won't fall.
USC official ticket tiers (2024 season-ticket map — donor structure)¶
- Tiers 1-6: require Trojan Athletic Fund (TAF) membership — annual donation $200 to $50K + Coliseum Restoration Gift. Not available to ordinary public buyers.
-
Tiers 7-9: open to public, no donor requirement — these are the upper-deck (300-level) sections on the north (USC sideline) side.
- Tier 7 ($615/season, ~$88/game base): upper-deck sideline, roughly between the 20-yd lines → sections ~318-326 on current LA Coliseum map
- Tier 8 ($590/season): upper-deck corners, off-center
- Tier 9 ($465/season): upper-deck end-zone (sections ~310-313, 327-328, 300-303) — behind the goal posts, the cheap nosebleeds
For 2 decent seats with no donor history, Tier 7 (upper-deck sideline-center) is the sweet spot — proper sideline view, no TAF gate.
Single-game premium-opponent pricing (extrapolated)¶
USC marks single-game tickets above the per-game season equivalent, then applies a further premium for marquee opponents (Oregon, Michigan, Notre Dame). 2025 reference: Michigan @ USC face value started ~$236.
Expected 2026 Oregon face-value pricing for 2 seats:
| Tier | Per-seat | 2 seats | What you get |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tier 9 | $150-200 | $300-400 | End-zone uppers — watching down the field's length |
| Tier 7 (target) | $225-350 | $450-700 | Upper-deck sideline, plays develop properly |
| Tier 4-6 (mostly donor-only) | $300-500+ | $600-1000+ | Lower-bowl sideline (requires TAF) |
On-sale timeline (historical pattern)¶
| Window | What happens |
|---|---|
| Now → late June 2026 | Nothing public. Donor / season-ticket renewal priority window. |
| Week of 2026-06-22 | Mini-plans likely released (2025 ref: Wed Jun 25). Oregon often anchors a multi-game package — earliest official path to Oregon seats, but commits you to 2-3 other games. |
| Early-to-mid July 2026 | Marquee single-games (Oregon, etc.) typically released to general public. |
| Early August 2026 (~Aug 4-6) | General single-game release for remaining home games (2024 ref: Tue Aug 6). |
| Game week | Resale prices peak; kickoff time announced ~12 days out by Fox/CBS/NBC. |
Reference data points:
- 2024 single-game release (Utah State / Wisconsin / Rutgers): Tue Aug 6, 2024
- 2025 mini-plans release: Wed Jun 25, 2025
- 2025 USC vs Michigan: sold out via official channels before Sep 10 late-season cleanup
Plan¶
- Wait — do not buy resale yet. Resale floor today ($142) is for nosebleeds; better seats will come up cheaper via official sale.
- Calendar reminder: week of 2026-06-22 — start checking usctrojans.com/footballtickets daily for the mini-plan / on-sale announcement. (Nicolas handling Google Calendar.)
- Target Tier 7 — upper-deck sideline (sections in ~318-326 range), 2 seats together.
-
Budget envelope:
- Sweet spot: $500-700 for 2 decent (Tier 7) seats
- Floor option: $300-400 for 2 cheap (Tier 9 end-zone upper) seats
- Avoid: Tier 1-6 (donor-required); behind-goal end-zone seats unless that's all that's left.
- Fallback if official sale sells out: SeatGeek (USC's official resale partner) or TickPick — expect ~20-40% premium over face value for equivalent seats.
- Game-week reality: kickoff time TBD until ~2026-09-14 (~12 days out). Could be noon, late-afternoon, or evening — affects road-trip lodging & arrival logistics on the Sept 25/26.
